Nickelas

Nickelas is the 25th character, and the 5th bonus in the Sprunki AU and mod, '''sprunt.'''

Appearance

Normal Mode

Nickelas is a grayish purple synapsid Sprunki of a similar species to Tunner. They wear a cap on their head, and a paler purple horn portrudes from the side it isn't on. They wear overralls and a shirt, and black gloves and boots. They have spikes on their body, and a small tail.

Horror Mode

Nickelas is partially melted by high-temperature metals, with the right side of their face being severely metaled, as is their hat and part of their overralls.

Personality

As opposed to Codfrey, Nickelas is a stoic, serious sort of guy. Nickelas is generally a no-nonsense sort of guy, and takes everything very seriously.

Nickelas is very solemn, and especially serious about his occupation, in addition to his life in general. They want to be viewed as not only a reliable sort of guy, but also a diligent and industrious sort of man.

He has a very strong work ethic, in addition to code of ethics,

Biography

Codfrey and Nickelas have known each other since they were young, being raised close together, going to the same school, and all that. They started out as best friends, though in high-school, one of them caught feelings, though it's not really known which of them fell for the other, and it doesn't really matter that much, considering it seems they were the only one the other has ever felt anything for, mutually.

The two of them spend their young adult years courting each other with trips to the lake, drinking together, fishing, and cooking catches and all that, with the lakeside in the forest being Codfrey's favorite place in the world, and eventually, Nickelas's too. The two of them eventually end up buying a place in the woods together, though shortly after, Nickelas gets a job as a naval steel-worker, which they applied for easier in the past, and after their application was processed, were shipped off to schooling for it. Despite this, Nickelas still keeps in contact with Codfrey, though he grows lonely. Nickelas always comes back when he has the opportunity to, finally a holiday or week off, after many long stretches of deployment, though Codfrey is lonely anyway.

Codfrey discusses with Nickelas in adopting a child, in part to ease some of his loneliness, though this never comes to fruition until much later, when a friend of theirs asks if they can watch what he thinks is his nephew, as the poor child was an orphan, though resembles Tunner. Codfrey and Nickelas agree, and end up adopting Miwell as a result, with him being their son, though as time goes on, their schedules end up conflicting even more, and once more Tunner has to watch him.

Eventually, Codfrey takes up an occupation of something he thought he'd enjoy, considering he seemed to enjoy it as a hobby: fishing. He is overqualified for commercial fishing, so he gets the job rather easily. Unfortunately, what seems to blessing is rather a curse in disguise, as Codfrey loathes fishing. He loathes being apart from his family, his son who he would take on trips with him and his partner. He loathes being away from his boat, which he even took up the occupation to even purchase.

And most of all, he loathes the fact he is never with Nickelas anymore, because their schedules conflict even more, ignoring the times Nickelas is actually on shore, and at their house, Codfrey is often out at sea at the same time.

He wishes he could quit, but he cannot, as he has a family to provide for and care for.

Despite it all, Codfrey cares deeply about his family, his Nickelas, and their son. Each time they are absent from his life makes his heart only grow fonder for them, and cherish the time spent with the other more.

Codfrey ends up proposing to Nickelas shortly before horror mode starts, and is at home with his son when it does, while Nickelas is going to return later that year around autumn's beginning.

In Horror Mode, in September 2025, Wenda happens upon Codfrey at his lake-side home, having told his son to run and hide, and ends up being strangled by her, with one of his own fishing lines. She jabs him through the mouth and eye with the hook from his rod afterward, and then kicks him into the lake, though he does not drown despite her intents, let alone die from it, as he is a fish. He claws his way out of the lake, and goes off to seek Nickelas, who by the time Wenda gets to him, is in worse condition than him, despite Codfrey having quite literally lost an eye.

• Codfrey is a gay man, who is partners with Nickelas, with Codfrey having proposed to them, and the two of them being engaged.
• Codfrey in his spare time likes to smoke tobacco, weed, drink beer, and sleep.
  • And fish, but not in the same way as his occupation. For fun, on the lake instead of the sea. Whenever he can be, Nickelas is with him, whenever they can be at home the same time.
• Codfrey likes to cook fish, and other aquatic creatures, that he catches at their home in the forest, with both Nickelas and their son.
• Codfrey has to stay moist, even vaguely, as he is a fish, or he will get dehydrated and possibly die.
  • This is bad because Nickelas runs warm, especially when he has been at work lately, due to being a metal-worker and working with hot metal. Codfrey doesn't care anyway. He will cuddle with his partner if he wants to, dammit. Even if it kills him.
• Codfrey's parents almost named him Pikeal, but decided it was too on the nose.
• Codfrey likes to rest his head on Nickelas's head, because he has such a long neck, and Nickelas is short, and perfect headrest height. Nickelas likes it.
• Codfrey and Nickelas don't often get to spend time together, due to their schedules conflicting, though they always get the same federal holidays off, in addition to the rare same week off.
  • Despite this, their constant absence to each other's life only makes their love for each other grow stronger, and their heart grow fonder for each other.
  • Though, it is often hard for the two of them to seperate when it is time for one of them to be shunted off to work for weeks or months at a time apart once again, the two of them vise-gripping each other and begging not to leave until one of them pries the other off. Sad story of Nickelas and Codfrey.
• Codfrey finds Nickelas beautiful, even after his face is melted severely, though it helps that his partially melted side is on the side of Codfrey's missing eye, when he's looking right at them.
  • Codfrey finds their melted and mutilated side beautiful anyway, despite this joke.
• Codfrey taught his son, Miwell, how to fish. Miwell's not the best at it, though he tries anyway. Codfrey is proud of him, despite the fact Miwell is scared of the fire Codfrey and Nickelas use to cook their catches.
